5 Day Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park Safari
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier park is one of the Top Safari Destination in Africa. This
gem is located in the extreme north of the Northern Cape and stretches up into the
south west of Botswana, running along the border of Namibia.
Known to offer some of the best African wildlife sightings and bird-watching in
South Africa. A visit to The Kgalagadi Transfrontier park means that visitors to the
game park can look forward to exceptional sightings of African game animals. The
wilderness reserve boasts a large population of Lion, Cheetah and Leopard,
offering excellent sightings of predators. It is said that visitors have a better chance
of seeing large cats in this reserve than in the Kruger National Park.

Full Itinerary
Day One
You will be collected by your driver/guide at Upington Airport.
Easy drive using the R360 we travel through beautiful South African “Kalahari” to the
Kalahari Molopo Lodge. Once checked in, we will freshen up and meet in the restaurant for
welcome drinks and dinner.
Day Two
Depart after breakfast and cross into the Kgalagadi Transfrontier park at Tweerivieren gate.
Now properly in the Kgalagadi Wilderness, we do an extended game drive through this
pristine wilderness before arriving at one of the Wilderness Camps.
Wilderness camps include Bitterpan, Grootkolk, Kalahari Tented
Camp, Kieliekrankie , Urikaruus and Gharagab .
Dinner will be prepared and served around the camp fire.
Day Three
Early morning coffee and rusks, before departing on a 3–4-hour game drive before
breakfast at one of the picnic sites. En-route we will visit several waterholes while searching
for the Big Cats.
After breakfast we continue at a leisurely pace and take in the beauty of the fauna and flora
of this semi-arid landscape.
Animals to look out for are Lion, leopard, cheetah, Brown Hyena, Spotted Hyena and a
number of other smaller predators of which the most frequently seen are Bat-eared Fox,
Yellow Mongoose and Suricate. Where there are predators there are prey, and the reserve
has large populations of antelope including; Springbok, Gemsbok and Red Hartebeest.
Bird-watchers will be in their element in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park as there are over
200 species of birds regularly spotted here including Ostrich, Lilac-breasted Roller,
Crimson-breasted Shrike and Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill. The diversity of raptors is
extremely impressive and bird-watchers may have sightings of some of the 34 species
found here; including Pygmy Flacons and Lappet-faced Vultures.
Late lunch will be prepared and served back at the campsite.
Afternoon at leisure.
Later that afternoon we will enjoy sundowners from the deck, listening to the barking
geckos as the sun set over the distant horizon.
Dinner will once again be prepared and served around the fire.
Day Four
Early morning coffee, before we set off on another game drive following the gravel roads to
Nossob Rest Camp, where we can do some shopping and enjoy a hearty brunch.
We depart from Nossob Rest Camp and follow the Nossob river all the way back on yet
another extended game drive to Tweerivieren Rest Camp where we will overnight.
After check in at Tweerivieren, it’s time to unwind, reflect on the magic of the Kalahari, and
enjoy our last sundowners in the Park.
Dinner will be at the restaurant at own cost.
Day Five
Depart after breakfast and travel via the village of Askham to Upington Airport.
