Full Itinerary

Day One

Hop onto the shuttle at OR Tambo International, and arrive 6 hours later at Olifants West Gate,
Balule, Greater Kruger, where the shuttle will be waiting to transfer you to Imagine Africa Luxury
Tented Camp.
Alternatively take the 55min domestic flight from OR Tambo to Hoedspruit Airport, where the
shuttle will collect you and transfer you to Imagine Africa Luxury Tented Camp.

After checking in, your adventure begins in all earnest!
Nestled between the northern Drakensberg Mountains and vast swathes of African wilderness, an
intimate and unimaginable Safari experience awaits you…
Imagine. A herd of elephants quench their thirst at a nearby watering hole as you lounge next to
an infinity pool overlooking the African wilderness. As you stretch out you hear a distant lion send
out a guttural roar to let all know it is there. An excitement grows as you realize the time to go out
approaches. The nearby idling of an approaching Land Cruiser signals the beginning of another
adventure that defies imagination.

Dinner in the Boma.
A traditional “boma”, or dining area, adjoins the reception area and welcomes one to a hearty
central fire, where one can relax with a drink under the African sky very amiably after an
afternoon safari. In the evening the light allows for breathtaking views of the Naledi meaning
“stars” – in Sotho-Tswana, and acoustics of surrounding African wilderness create a perfect
ambience which leaves much to the imagination as to what could be but a short safari away. This
all seamlessly blends in with the main lodge through a rustic yet elegant wooden finish, and one
immediately feels familiar and at home.

Accommodation:
The luxury tented camp boasts six fully furnished spacious, elevated and air-conditioned canvas
tents accommodating 2 people each (maximum 10 people in camp) that provide all the goodness
and simplicity of contemporary living in a 55 square metre area, without detracting from the
majestic splendor of the surrounding African wilderness. Comfortable seating inside and coffee/
tea/desk station as well as an additional private patio outside allows for uninterrupted bliss and
memorable intimate conversations. The availability of complimentary high speed hotel WiFi
internet is also extended to all rooms.

Day Four

Alternative to morning game drive:
Leave after breakfast for the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre.
Since its establishment in 1990 as the Hoedspruit Cheetah Project, Hoedspruit Endangered
Species Centre (HESC) has played an important role in the conservation of certain endangered
species, including esepcially cheetahs and rhinos. They focus on the survival of endangered
species through the breeding and maintenance of diverse bloodlines of cheetahs and the
rehabilitation of rhinos that have become victims of poaching, creating awareness among the
general public, locally and internationally, about the importance of wildlife conservation.
This tour is done by a knowledgeable guide who gives an overview of HESC’s conservation
programmes and a close-up of the various species in our care. Seeing the cheetahs and rhinos is
always quite a highlight. Equally popular is the Vulture Restaurant where the vultures descend in
their hundreds when food is put out for them. You may also see wild dogs, leopard, sable
antelope and our ground hornbill. The tour is preceded by an informative video on this facility.
